Dogs on the roof

This week felt like 3 weeks but at the same time felt like 2 days. Time is kinda weird on the mission. I've been set apart as a missionary for more than 2 months now, but it feels like maybe 2 weeks. I honestly forgot that the MTC even happened.

This week it rained almost every day which was not pleasant. We had a service project in the plaza, which is basically a square of tents selling the most random objects that you could possibly imagine. But the ZLs never showed up and we were the only district there. Then we got a call from the ZLs and my comp made me answer it to "practice my Spanish" but there's one thing I've learned so far on the mission. Spanish on the phone is impossible to understand. They can be saying a phrase I've heard 100 times but it's cutting out and sounds like they're underwater haha. So I answered the phone and heard gibberish but I caught 4 or 5 words. I heard, servicio, demorado, comenzar, ocho, so I guessed they were saying the service was delayed and will start at 8, so I told my district, and they were pretty mad cause it had started to rain and it was only 7:30. Well, 8 comes and goes and no ZLs and no other districts and it was now pouring. At about 8:30 the ZLs came and everyone started arguing in Spanish so I just stood there not knowing what was happening, then my comp told me the service was canceled so we basically just stood in the rain for like an hour and a half for no reason whatsoever haha. We were trying to get a bus back to our sector but none of the buses were stopping for us, so we walked like a mile to a different part of the city where more buses drive by and it still took like 10 more minutes for a bus to stop for us. Not fun haha.

One of the ZLs took me on exchanges which was pretty fun. We went to a members tienda, which is like a little corner store, and taught her a little lesson and asked if she had anyone in mind to teach, and she said no then paused for a few seconds then pulled a girl from out of nowhere and said, actually, you should baptize this girl. I have no idea where the girl came from haha. Then the ZL whispered "you got this" in my ear then just straight up dipped and started talking to some guy outside the tienda. So I was stuck teaching a full lesson in a language I don't know, but some sort of miracle happened cause when the ZL came back he said, put her on date, and so I asked her if she would be baptized. She actually said yes, it was her first time speaking with the missionaries, so I don't really know what happened haha.

Me and my comp were knocking doors and at one house we were talking with someone that genuinely seemed interested, then 2 dogs came out of nowhere and legitimately went in the middle of us 3 and started fighting, and it wasn't play fighting like puppies do, they were genuinely trying to kill each other. My comp and the guy just kept talking like nothing was happening, they didn't even act like they noticed the dogs. Where am I?

Speaking of dogs there are just dogs on top of all the houses that bark at us nonstop. I have no idea how they got up there or why, but every time we walk down an alley, like 10 dogs on the roof bark like crazy. I'll get some pictures this week. I forgot to take pictures last week, so I only got one and it was only one dog. Also, there are 2 super chill dogs that follow us around and protect us from the other dogs. They're great.

Sorry I'll try to take more pictures this week. I keep forgetting about it haha, but the pictures are the 2 chill dogs, the dog on the roof, and a tiny toad I found.
